San Antonio's Tent City Rally

It was chilly and cold on Sunday morning!! It sure was an unusual weather for San Antonio for this time of the year. We met at the San Pedro park with a nice number of gathering of FSSA supporters. I couldn't be any more proud of those who came to show their support!! We pitched up our tents and started making signs related to the protest. Others mingled and tried to educate themselves to understand the underlying purpose of the protest. It's good to see the once "confused" look turn to "anger" once they pinged(understood)!! Jay took over and gave a speech updating us on the latest news after spending time on the internet prior to the rally. Brian Barwise took the initiative and contributed his views from his read on the internet and social contacts along side with Jay. We collected some donations and more to come. We're hoping to sent the money come Friday, October 27th. Jay and I thank each and everyone of you for your support and being there with us!! We couldn't have done it without YOU!! PROTESTORS AT GALLAUDET...ARE YOU LISTENING???

San Antonio Tent City

We will have a Tent City Rally for Gallaudet University's FSSA (Faculty, Staff, Students, and Alumni) to show our support of the protest against the newly president elect Dr. Jane K. Fernandes. It will be held at the San Pedro Park (across the street from San Antonio Community College behind the tennis court), San Antonio Sunday, October 22, 2006 from 11:00 until ???. You'll easily find the location by spotting tents popped up at the park. We will have a cook-out...bring your family, friends and yourself!! Show your SUPPORT!!

Things to bring with you to the Tent City Rally:
- TENT (we will not be sleeping in the tent...it's to show support)
- grill
- your food, drinks and snacks
- lounge chairs (outdoor chairs)
- poster paper, variety of colors of markers and tapes
- monetary donations for FSSA will be appreciated!!
- paints (added)
- bucket for monetary collection...

We will MARCH around the park around 1-2 pm (added)
